Hi Guys, first of all, i'll try & do my best by you and the club. I'm always open to ideas/thoughts, and of course games. :)

One of the things i have tried to do via these forums is "train" (as i was by Col Kilgore), or help explain the game to newbies, so that they can rapidly develop and start winning (as well as enjoying playing). So i have played games for fun (as are all my games i'll add, and not for logging on the table), and hopefully explain my tactics and reasons why. For those i have played against, this has become a two way street as i constantly forget things (age i guess), and learn new ones. What i'm proposing is a buddy system where grizzled vets play for fun the newbies, the wooden cross recipients and those who want to learn to play better. Sharing knowledge and keeping those at the bottom of the table interested, so that they play more games and stay excited by this venerable, but still excellent game - (i fervently await Jason's PB2 disc). A shared experience through the form of sitreps, interesting info etc will keep everyone involved.

The second thing is, this is a small club (the Campaign series), with excellent committed players, with some crossover with the Blitz. The question is, why is their membership for the Campaign series huge, with a large volume of games and postings. For those of us who have contact with the other side, i ask u to make it your mission to talk to these players, ask them to join us & bring new blood to the club. Swell the membership, get more games played, more topics started and experience shared.

cheers for now

Robert

Robert, all good thoughts. I would take on a padawan learner and report the tutorial games as draws if one but were to ask me.

And I think I came up with a good idea maybe. I posted this at the Blitz too. I propose a team game series between the clubs. A contingent from each club play a best of 3 against eachother?

Brian, many thanks for being the first to take up this. Ok all you Padawans out there, who will be the first totake up this generous offer. Brian is an excellent player with a lot to offer.

Brian, another great idea, i've posted over at Blitz as well supporting this. Let's see who bites. Anybody reading this, let us know if your interested.

I'd be willing to moderate the match or play(for either club). If I play I would like a command! (I thought of it after all! LOL)

I'll, play, but I'm not sure I'd be the best pick to represent our club (I'm not a member of the Blitz).

Also, I'm always willing to play any newbies or anyone else for that matter, ladder points or no.
