Hi,

I'd like to start a paratroop company for SASL and wondered where I could go for that info? I have some info in my paratroop books about T O &E but not sure how to convert to SASL. I have the first edition.

Thanks,

Joe

Well, every squad should carry a British LMG, and there are 15 squads in a company.

Oh yeah, they should all be morale 9 too...

HI,

Thanks for the reply. Every book that I have states that the US paras have 9 squads not 15. I know that in the coy HQ there was the equivalent of 1 squad. Where do the others fit in?

This was from Hans Mielants "Band of Brothers" campaign. Unfortunately I can't find a current link to his web site :(

US Para Company 1944-45

Greetings;

Well this is what I have:

Variation #1
Company HQ
2 x Officers (1 x Capt, 1 x Lt)
1 x 1st Sgt

(3) Rifle Platoons; each
Platoon HQ
1 x Lt or 2Lt
1 x S/Sgt
2 x .30 cal MMG
1 x Bazooka

(3) Rifle Squads; each
12 men armed with
1 x BAR
9 x M1 Rifle
2 x .30cal Carbine or .45cal Machine Pistol

Heavy Wpns Team
1 x 60mm Mortar (M19 or M2)

Variation #2
Company HQ
2 x Officers (1 x Capt, 1 x Lt)
1 x 1st Sgt

(3) Rifle Platoons; each
Platoon HQ
1 x Lt or 2Lt
1 x S/Sgt
2 x .30 cal MMG
1 x Bazooka

(3) Rifle Squads; each
12 men armed with
1 x BAR
3 x .45cal Machine Pistol
2x .30cal Carbine or .45cal Machine Pistol
6 x M1 Rifle

Heavy Wpns Team
1 x 60mm Mortar (M19 or M2)

Now the relating this to ASL, I would have the Variation #1 rifle squad as a 6-6-7 and Variation #2 rifle squad a 7-4-7 and both with spray and assault fire capabilities. The Heavy Wpn Team's mortar would be a rarely a M19 but more likely a M2 with the baseplate and bipod as this would offer the company and platoon commanders more firepower and range. These would be especially of value when behind enemy lines.

The .30cal MMG would be manned by 4-5 man MG crews and the bazookas and mortars by 2-3 man SW Teams.

HATC, LTC, ALTC and Sulking

Sorry, my post was entirely in jest. Didn't mean to mislead you.
My wife always makes me announce "Humor Attempt" when I'm making
a joke. In ASL terms this is a HATC which which, if successful results
in a LTC (Laughter Task Check) in my listener. If the listener fails
the LTC I undergo a ALTC (Audience Loss Task Check), failure of which
causes me to Sulk.

Um, sorry... what were you saying? I lost you there...

My wife has said that my kids went directly from being to young to appreciate my humor to being too old to appreciate it.

She was right, too.
