Man, you start sleeping with Mavis Beacon and all of a sudden everybody is on your case.
Isn't this where BobO says something inappropriate about her box? :devious:

Had an alliterative geographical noun named scenario about a plantation in the works. Will dedicate to Pitman and call it "Brokeback Plantation":)

Hi-

Finished up PK's the Highest Value today and it went down to the last CC DR. What a hoot of a game. I lost but I'll take a lose anyday when the game is as exciting as the one we played. And if you have some spare cash, buy this pack, PK obviously put some work into this pack and it shows.

thanks for the kind words

over the weekend, I played Lego Star wars with my 6 year old on Friday Night, painted my 4 yr old daughter's room on Saturday Morning, coached my 6 year old's basketball on Saturday afternoon, went to wrestling with my 8 year old Sunday Morning, cleaned the house Sunday afternoon, watched The Empire Strikes back Sunday evening with my 6 and 8 year old.

sadly no ASL, but I did finish reading Glory Enough for All Friday afternoon and then Desperate Engagement this morning.

My good ASL bud Ted and I played Dispatches from the Bunker#060 "Acorns in the Fire." It was another great offering from the Bunker crew. See short AAR above:)

The only one I've played so far this year was a playtest of The Meat Grinder. I proved that if you find the right opponent, even if you are the worst die roller in the world (me), you can still be evenly matched with SOMEONE and live for 3 or 4 turns before dying a glorious cardboard death......:p:clown:

I've been busier than a cat covered in pooh...Ive got a scenario set up, not finished yet of "An uncommon Occurrence" I'm teaching a relative newbie the armor rules.....unfortuneatly by letting him blow my tanks up.....His dice have been hotter than hell:angry: but I also got complacent using my vehicles(German) and put most of them in a bad situation.

Blue Jacket Attack (my design for SP 14)
Ciao Gurkha Ciao (future SP and last of the Gurkha series)
And Able was i when i saw the Elba or some such title:nuts: (a Pitman scenario for RotR Rally Point) That title is a bear Pitman, but it was a good scenario!

I gotta resubscribe to this zine one day, or when I have some disposable cash.

Mike- How was the Pitman scenario? Were their alot of SSR's for covering the non German equipment involved in those actions?

Dispatches from the Bunker is the BEST bang-for-the-buck in all ASL land at $15 subscription. Around three scenarios per issue, great analysis, and the always informative tips section:yummy:

Mike, if you or Evan had designed it, it would have been called Elba Room.

hey,
I played "Released From the East"(S6) against new guy Scott F.
(hey Scott!) yesterday. Scott was the mighty SS and I took the lowly
Russkie hordes.
Scott played a good defense, but I was able to claw out a win.
Tough one for the Russian player.
Not to downplay Scott's excellent(his noob status wearing off quickly! )
gameplay, but I can see why this one is currently showing a 2-1 in favor of
the Germans on the ROAR.
The SS, with 8 ML, are tough as nails to dig out of stone buildings w/o
any real heavy firepower. And at 6 turns, the Russians can't take their time.
The Russian player must use maneuver and swarming tactics to take
down the Germans.
Good game Scott!

Hi-

Got a chance to play the following:

Counterattack along the Danube-
Combines Axis attack on both Rose Hill and Swabian with the SS Florian Guyer Division supported by outdated Italian tanks and a few Jg 38's along with help from a University Student Battalion in which they were supported by 150mm Hummel SP guns. Later in the Game, the Axis gets Hungarian reinforcements in the form of three Stug's and three Zyrinis. The Russian force at start is small but on turn two, the Russian bring on thier lads with a few 628's, 458's, ISU 122's, Shermans and SU 85's. A real swirling melee for control of both hills is the order of the day.

Vasinack Church-
A DftB scenario, a real small one, but fun and just infantry, can be dicey but the key for the Germans is to plod forward and do the best they can.

Rommels Remedy-
Gonna play this one today with my buddy Todd. Lucky for me, I had downloaded the Lits Map ages age, and pieced together the playing map. In the scenario, it calls for broken ground and trying to eyeball such terrain changes is a real pain. heres my map I put together:

hey,
Played "Retaking Vierville"(S1) today with the "new guy" Scott.
With it being quite pro-American, I took the Germans with the balance.
(turned out, the Germans NEED the balance)
With a few hints, and a little bit of coaching, Scott was able to pull
a last second victory!:D Good Game Scott!
The young jedi is almost ready to move on to ASL...:smoke:
Next up; "Simple Equation" from the ASLSK1.

hey Scott,
It's cool; I remember playing my first ASL games, and how
patient my teachers were! It's good to watch
Scott's play move along each game. He even had his first
"Buzz Lightyear ASL" moment; he charged a 9-2 leader into
CC with a pinned 5-4-8 that helped to clinch the win.
Good fun!

Thanks Chris - I appreciate the much needed coaching (more than a little, I'd say!) and it was nice to finally pull out a win, especially a nail-biter last minute victory in CC. Looking forward to making the move to full-blown ASL soon!
