Hi,

If a squad places smoke in a OG hex with residual fire lane (1FP) and enters, the residual attack it's a 1@-1 (A9.222)?
Or the smoke placed later has effect and the residual attack it's a 1@+1?

Thanks in advance
Regards

PD: Sorry for my english :)

Fire Lane attacks are not affected by SMOKE.
A9.222 RESIDUAL FP : ... [EXC: SMOKE/grain/brush/marsh/FFE/Heavy-(or denser)-Dust-(f11.794)/hut-(G5.21)) Hindrances do not apply as DRM but do cancel FFMO; LV-(E3.1)/DLV-(F11.6) Hindrances do not apply as DRM]

If the squad is in the firelane then the smoke is placed before the attack takes effect. Although smoke does not affect the firelane, it does make the hex no longer open ground. So the ffmo will not apply even though the smoke DRM does not apply.

The attack would still probably be at -1 for FFNAM because the cost to place the Smoke in an adjacent hex is two MF and the cost to enter the open ground with Smoke is also two MF. FFMO would not apply, of course, but unless done with a leader to provide extra MF the movement would have to be non-assault movement.
