Folks,

SM 2 American paratroops. Their ELR is listed as "ELR: 5 (see SSR 4)."

SSR 4 says "American ELR is reduced by 3 should an American at-start
leader be eliminated/captured." (Italics in original.)

Suppose that an American at-start leader is eliminated/captured.
Then the American ELR drops below 5. Does this invoke A19.132?

A19.132 says when an SSR (not just an OB) assigns an ELR \leq 4 to troops
with underlined morale, they get replaced normally...

Thanks in advance.

My question was about the VC. Prisoners do not count.

Its unusual, normally it's prisoners do no count double.

As written prisoners are worthless.

I don't think so. My guess that's not the intention. You could drop MMP an Q&A to be sure...
I agree that's not the intention, fwiw. When I played this last week, I was the Germans and
we played that A19.132 didn't apply. My opponent (playing the Americans, said he wasn't
sure). I told him it was my house rule. :)

Edit: we were playing at my house.

Thanks as ever,
indy

Agreed...it's unusual, but I think the wording is clear.

But does that mean it's better to reject surrender (and eliminate
a unit) than to take that unit prisoner?

It depends upon whether you play with POW interrogation in effect by mutual consent.

In non-CVP situations, prisoners are not worthless, they are a net negative.
