The Advanced Squad Leader Starter Kit Expansion Pack #1 is back in stock, and it's updated!

This 2nd edition of the Expansion Pack includes everything from the 2011 release, plus board p, and four scenarios previously found in the Beyond the Beaches ASLSK Bonus Pack.

Also included are a half-sheet of counters, two Quick Reference Data Cards, one example of play/sequence of play card, one vehicle and ordnance historical notes book, and one rulebook.

Thanks
Joe

The Bishop is the reason why Waldo is hiding....

That SKEP seems like a great value and lots of stuff!

A BGG overview says: "half-sheet of counters (mostly Polish, Italian, and [Axis? - OE] Minors inf/sw/ldrs) with another 29 AFVs and 3 guns representing a mix of Italian, American, Russian, British, Polish, and German"

so the smaller infantry OOBs but not the inf OOBs covered well elsewhere, plus all the AFVs, and presumably the Axis Minor and Italian guns. no markers. presumably?

A guy posted a photo of the counter-sheet over at BGG. My summary response was:

"Some dashed peculiar choices on MMP's part in terms of choosing things to cut, though, I must say. All of the "brand new" British tanks - both types of Matilda, Churchill V, and the Comet - have been removed. That's really very disappointing - some explanation from MMP would be helpful. The one actually Italian AFV (a Semovente)n has been removed, but all 8(!) Italian-coloured R-35s have been kept. One of the "new" German tanks, the Panzer IIIG, looks to be missing.

On the whole the infantry/gun changes look okay. Shame to lose the Allied Minor 1s and Gs, but the Es and varied SWs were the real point of their appearance in EP1. Italian Inf/SW OOB is a very useful rounding out of the SK2 OOB (the two Italian guns lost in EP1(ii) are in SK2, but lacked crews there, bizarrely). Of course we might have wished for some of those R-35s and Slovakian ACs to be turned into other items, but that's not really an issue. The real problem is the very strange, and disappointing, treatment of the AFVs."

I'm a bit confused by the decisions made about AFVs - from memory the scenario with Italian AFVs in Sicily doesn't use 8 R-35s, so why not cut one to keep the Semovente? Why double down on the Sherman IIIs and Vs (mostly available in DaE as well) whilst cutting the original inclusions in the Matildas, Churchill, and Comets? If they were so concerned at keeping the mid-late war "standards" in print via EP1(ii), why cut the PzIIIG?

Any input from the MMP guys much appreciated on this, as it's making me have very slight second thoughts about buying this.
