Shellhole

Hello,

When you have to place a shellhole by ssr, and after dr/di DR it lands in wood hex, is that wood hex gone and replace by openground with a shellhole in it?
Where can i find the rule?

What does the SSR say?

Shellholes can only be placed in OG, orchard, brush or grainfield per B2.1.

I guess no Shellhole in those situations.

There is a errata (IIRC it came with HP) which answers your question :
"B2.1 Errata Add "; the in-hex terrain (and any Flame/Blaze already in it) is considered to no longer exist at all" after " a shellhole hex"."

Don't think that changes much.

Only talks about what happens when such a shellhole in placed in terrain where it could be placed (OG, orchard, brush or grainfield) which contains the flame/blaze.

I think this SSR should be played in accordance with C1.823 as it represents bombardment prior to scenario start:

C1.823 FIRE/SHELLHOLES: Whenever any Bombardment MC DR is an Original 12, make a subsequent dr. If this dr is ≤ 4 a Shellhole counter is placed at the Base Level of that hex, provided such placement is otherwise legal...​

And if you didn't notice it, there is an Errata issued for this scenario stating that these shellholes aren't rolled for until after the Americans set up offboard:

BFP 17: SBR 3. Replace “all setup but priort to game start” with 'ASOP step '1.11A'.​

The errata applies regardless of whether there is a Blaze/flame present.
