Re: M.E. Screenies!

Here's a nice shot I took- required a few times...

Put it together for the background history on one of my wife's characters:
On patrol with 10 of her fellows of the river guards along the fens of the Entwash in Rohan.

Re: M.E. Screenies!

I did realize that when I'm going to take a screenshot I go into my options & change the "Overall Graphics Quality" up from Medium to Ultra High. Afterwords just flip back to Med & continue on.
At least on my machine I usually run on medium for smoother play, when I run on Ultra High I see more lag / jerkiness & have even locked up up a few times.

Between the two shots: (flip back & forth a few times to see the difference)
A on Medium - plenty of flat, emptiness.
B on Ultra High - more trees, real shadows, bushes/grass, the buildings are sharper & on the whole just more "crisp."

I want to play this. Is there really no way to get it to run on Windoze 2000?

Where there's fire there's smoke so-
"Would you mind going outside if you're going to start smoking?"

Re: M.E. Screenies!

However- getting inside was a little problem. :bite:

Shots:

1. Nice: yea, this looks like a safe place to stand and chat...

2. Oh-ho: YIKES! This definitely looks like trouble! :scream: All I know is someone yelled "Palantier get back!!" So I did.

3. Back: Hmmm, dwarves & 1 elf, I guess that makes me Legolas by default. :crosseye:

This was a very fun set of quests.

Re: M.E. Screenies!

I see I forgot to take off my helm for the shot!

We ran between areas where it was & was not raining so as a Elf I had to cover up my hair! That is just one of the small details Turbine has done right, raining in one area & not in the adjacent area. We also saw a great sunrise graphic coming up over the mountains- another great touch. It all adds up to making you feel like you are in Middle Earth.

Re: M.E. Screenies!

Here's a nice little shot taken in Evendim before the old capitol of Annuminas of or 60's my main Hunter & wife's Champion.

I did some major editing to get this one, do you see it? :horse:

Re: M.E. Screenies!

Here’s a multi-info screen-shot for you: forgot to turn on a few things so 2 shots. :(

A. The screen-setup for my 60 Hunter for those who asked.
B. A look at the Lorien area and the golden “hazy” gleam it has.
C. What a “protected Animal in Lorien looks like has the “Protected” name under the target name. Kill these & you lose a few Rep points with the Elves. (Watch out for the Anduin Lizards down here mean tough buggers)

Setup changes: (I don’t like a cluttered screen )

1. I moved my “Vitals” and my “Targets Vitals” to the bottom middle so I can keep my eyes on the action & don’t have to keep looking up to the corner to see how I’m fairing.

2. Reduced all my main bar / skill boxes to take up less space.

3. Reduced & moved my “Progression Bar” to the lower right corner & out of the way.

4. Reduced my Radar / map in size.

5. Put one of my “Quick Slot” bars to the right vertically & out of the way for some of my frequently used “out of combat” skills. (at bottom is "Cry of the Predator " skill (yellow wolf) vs. non-humanoid creatures)

6. Stacked my 3 main Quick Slot bars- horizontally: the top 2 are all “out of combat” skills that only appear if I open up a bag. (Guides mostly) The 3rd bar has my heals / main traps / long cool down ranged attacks.

7. Combat Bar- I work middle to left (ranged) or right (melee). The further to the left = higher Focus costing shots. Right of center are my 2 “mob delay” shots “Bards Arrow” (fear) “Distracting shot” (Daze) to keep them off me.

8. Reduced & moved my quest tracker off to the side. With some of the various quest colors.

Others probably have better setups but I use this general layout for all my characters.

Bags- it doesn’t really matter where you put stuff but mine:

Bag 1- potions, food buffs- heals, combat buff’s I also keep my 1 shot “Heart Seeker” (purple) bow here, it does 10% more HS dmg when used and since I use it as an opening shot I have time to equip & un-equip it. (My main bow has -ranged evade, damage & critical multipliers etc.
Bags 2-5 are almost always empty so I can collect lots of stuff when I go out hunting! (I went out collecting hides for about 2 hours in Eregion & made a Gold in selling junk. )
Bag 6 – has my traps, legendary weapons I’m leveling, etc.

I've seen a few mods that change the graphic of the bars etc. but I'm to lazy to download them.

BTW- use “ctrl & forward slash (\)” to bring up the UI so you can move items around on your screen, to reduce sizes go to the Options / U.I. setting panel for the sliders.

Re: M.E. Screenies!

Oh to be in Lothlorien now that Autumn is here. :joy:

My 55 hunter finally made it to the woody wonderland of Galadriel & Celeborn. :)
{I skipped most of Moria: I didn't want to wander in the darkness right now}

I was rather pleased to find out that through clever planning , the use of plenty of traps :bite: and fast feet :whist: I was able to take down even the red level 60 Orcs :eek:gre: & creatures required in the quests of the first area. :bandit:

I took a few shots of the time I spent with Legolas and Gimil wandering about the area. The NPC elves have some cool uniforms.

Great graphics of the "other worldy" feel the land and city should have.

Re: M.E. Screenies!

Nice shots.

What's the keystroke to remove all the GUI stuff from the screen, anyway?

Re: M.E. Screenies!

"F12" clears the screen of that data. {FYI- ctrl "\" will bring up the UI screen so you can move around all the data boxes}

"N" clears off names.

Sometimes I've had to hit "F13" twice to get off some of the quick-slot boxes.

To get the emote actions screenies you have to be quick to "Enter" the emote, hit F13, then hit the prtscrn button at just the right moment!

Post players post!!!

:surprise:  :skull:

I love those kind of surprises in the game!

There's other surprises on that order in the North Downs & Eregion.
