I am using VASL to walk through, step by step, the Series Replay "J73 Tired and Unsupported" from the ASL Journal Issue Six. The goal is to learn more about bocage and wall advantage.
However, I got confused early in Turn 1 by what purported to be a simple Wind Change DR at the start of the Turn 1 German Rally Phase. Please help some folks new to ASL understand the mechanics..
For context, this Scenario as SSR#1 that EC are moderate, with no wind at start.
Line 93 (page 7) makes the Wind Change DR of '1-1'. According to B25.65, "a change occurs" and one is to use the accompanying chart to determine this change. However, the notes on line 93 of the article indicate "possible change."
Line 94 makes a Wind effect dr of '1'. My chart tells me that wind direction changes one hex clockwise. However, their note indicates that the wind has increased to "Mild Breeze".
Line 95 then makes a Wind Direction dr of 4.
Can someone please walk me through the Wind Effect dr, with rulebook/chart reference and explanation how the wind speed increased with the dr of '1'?
