If units rally in a building or in woods, they receive an -1 DRM.
I suppose this is the same for self-rallying units.
In the starter kit, the -1 DRM is only mentioned when units are rallied and NOT when there is a self-rally.
How to play it?
Is this a difference between ASL and ASLSK?

There's not a difference here between ASL and ASLSK. Since a self-rally is a rally, the -1 DRM for being in rally-terrain (building, woods) applies to both forms of rally.

If you were to argue that a self-rally wasn't a form of rally, there wouldn't be a mechanism to self-rally. After all, 3.1 (e) doesn't specify how one attempts a self-rally. Rather, 3.1 (e) is allowing units that don't have a leader present to attempt to follow the procedure given in 3.1 (f) - albeit with an additional +1 DRM for self-rallying.
