It was a very tough go. Two tiny German teams made all the difference. If it weren't for those teams, Anton probably would have carried the day. The flag was not controlled at the end - the game was decided on casualty count.

Good gaming with you, Anton. We'll start another game soon!

Seeing the Elephant Tourney

Kerry,

Hope you are feeling better. As you know, I goofed on the report for the first game of the tourney, thanks for deleting it. Additionally, do I need to send you the last game turn that I had from round two so that you can ceasefire it and determine the point total? Just let me know and thanks again.

WHAT??!!! Even with all of my excellent tutoring?!! :p

That is interesting. During playtest BOTH sides complained bitterly about this scenario being unbalanced in the OTHER SIDES FAVOR!!! It was quite funny actually but very hard to balance that way.

The results are actually historical since the Romanians did win this fight but I would have thought that the Soviet gamers could have done better in six games than to only win one of them. I'm assuming that the big difference in the games played here and our playtests is tactics. These scenarios were playtested using veteran gamers and it is hard to determine what inexperienced gamers will do. Or how a scenario, or QB, will play between a group of gamers at any level.

In any event, I'm surprised to see the dominance by the Axis gamers here. I would have though that the more experienced gamer should be Axis in this scenario, with the harder task to win, being placed on the Axis gamer. That, of course, depends on what the Allied gamer does....

Very interesting.

Good Hunting.

Aren't these actually the results for the first scenario 'HSG B Guards At Klematina' between The Russians and the Germans, or are there games that are finished but not on the tournament page yet?

According to the tournament webpage there have only been two results reported for the second scenario 'HSG AM First Clash' with one victory each way so far, so fairly well balanced so far as MR predicted.

Due to the MASS confusion concerning players dropping in & out of round one, if you have a Round 1 game still going on please let me know.

Ok, Round one is about to wrap up (one match never got off the ground but we're working on that) So rd 3 will start once I know who is still in.

Gen Schmaeter,

Did you ever receive my file for our CMBB GB-Recon game? I've sent it a couple of times but but maybe it went missing. Anyway I've sent it again today. I'm keen to get through the last few turns and finish it.

Palantir,
I already have a round two opponent and am half way through the game, thanks. However, I saw on another thread that there is someone else without a round two opponent due to drop-outs. Perhaps GD could play him?

Mangus,

A minor correction for your table in message #154 - I was axis, and ADA was allies. However, the result you show is correct - Axis minor victory.

What do the numbers in the parentheses mean? Just wondering.

Are those just the results for round 1 or for all games finished in the tournament so far?

Good Hunting.

A quick question regarding the scores. I entered my own score but used the battle points that came up in the ladder report rather than the percentage at the end of the game. Is that right? I assumed so but I notice that the other allied minor victory is down as 62 rather than the 23 I got. One of these must be wrong mustn't it? It looks like one or two others might have used the percentage instead of battle points too.

Mangus. What do the numbers in the parentheses mean? Just wondering.
They are the points spent by each winning team, so 1409 is what was spent on the Axis force and 1362 for the Allies.

Antonius, regarding the difference in points. I'm not too sure how Palantir was doing the points for the StE, i'll get back to you on this one:eek:
