Heinz, the textures look blurry and 'smeared' on some of your shots, noteably the first one (of Bobr?). Have you got the game settings dialled all the way up or turned down somewhat?
I think it has to do partly with my slightly weird ambient light settings (I like hard light, it looks more natural to me), partly with the fact that my anisotropic filtering is down (it's always a framerate-eater on my system). Otherwise could be a bit of a fluke too. The rest of it is basically maxed out for me. The game's textures aren't terribly high-res though, especially when you look at small ships from close range. Not that it's ever bothered me!

Ride of the old girls:

I`ve sent out the old pre-dreads to disrupt the constant shelling of Flanders from the British Monitors.

Approaching through the night

The next morning

Detaching 2 DDs for investigating smoke on the horizon. It was a steamer transporting contraband, so it was seized.

RECON from Zeppelins reported Monitors NE of Zeebrügge. The TF began giving chase. Late in the afternoon, visual contact was made. As the escorts of the Monitors had obviously ran away, the escorting CLs and DDs were ordered out of harms way.

At dawn, one of the Monitors is getting hit and falling back. The end was quick and bloody.

As the old gals were very exposed to the risk of faster and overwhelming forces, it was decided not to chase the other Monitors at all costs but to retreat. All ships came BTB unharmed.

A few days after the raid of the old pre-dreads, the Dover Monitors learned the hard way about the new Wilhelm II battery with a range of over 32 km. As I have learned lately, the Germans already used planes for spotting and ranging.

The escorting DDs got under fire first, only 2 escaped as the night was approaching.

The 2 last Monitors didn`t escape though.

The battery is getting the range quick, the hits from the 30,5 cm guns are hurting and one is beginning to taking list. Note the knocked out turret of the second Monitor in the background, trained as it was when it was destroyed.

Soon one Monitor capsizes slowly

Notice the strange formed underwater part of the hull, I guess it was for creating a stable gun-platform. The heavy Dover Monitors ceased to excist with these last ones, now I have to hunt down the light Monitors, which should be an easy prey for my CLs.

From an earlier Mission, The Battlecruisers reinforced with 4 fast BBs were out on a bombardment mission to the British East Coast. HSF was out as a cover too, should Beatty or Jellicoe trying to intercept me. Unfortunatly I don`t recall the details anymore, so the pics are not commented. Weather wasn`t that nice though.

Finally, one old CL with escorting DDs in low light

SMS Baden in action:

Royal Navy battleships in pursuit.

High Sea Fleet starting engagement and exchanging salvos.

Lutzow fighting to the death.

Battleship at the down.

And finally "old photo" style.

Nice pictures... Baden looks quite majestically, really. And would look even more so if she didn't go down two pics further on ;). König and Kronprinz almost look like contemporary photos, but perhaps the dots on the "und" should be removed :p

Um.....I think there are some leftovers from the making of DG: RJW, in Jutland.View attachment 25958
Actually, that's the result of a texture failing to load on your system for some reason. When the game can't load the texture it wants, it slaps a default placeholder on there, and that's what you're seeing.

There are several reasons this might happen, most of which have to do with your system being overloaded at the time.

Ok, so what texture is supposed to be there? It happens when I select the gun placement as the camera focal point. Can you try it and let me know what you see there?

Thanks

She looked so much better with fire and splashes all around :D

I'll get some of my screen shots of that game up soon.

Here's a preview of some shots I took during my recent campaign battle. I've got bunches more cool closeups and others showing the tactical situation. Once I finish the battle I will put them all on Photobucket and post a link.

Unidentified Flying Object

I've never heard of this craft, either with the Russians or the Japanese...

And, no, I don't mean the Hei Yen!

Details are in my AAR, The Tsar's Crown Jewels (blatant plug)

The location was 266 km SSW of Vladivostok. It zoomed past the AC Hei Yen, which was chasing one of my area patrol TBs.

I was checking out Hei Yen when I saw it zoom past!

Here are some more photos of rare sightings!
