Here in Tampa we have received a few responses to Schwerpunkt #8 but it has been quiet lately. I guess no news is good news but we'd like to heare some more dicussion and AARs on the volume 8 scenarios.

We are coming close to the end of playtesting volume #9 so any comments may help us make #9 even better.

I have played skirting the Mace and Hosum Hotfoot and enjoyed them both. Looking forward to playing Burn Gurhka Burn some time soon.

I posted some brief impressions in my ASLOK AAR, but to reiterate, I enjoyed the two SP#8 scenarios I tried. I don't recall the names, but one had Russians with Carriers - lots of fun but the Carrier SSR could use some clarification. The other was a pretty gnarly ridge assault with OT-34s, a 128L ATG, lotsa armor - might be a tad hard on the Bolshies but I'd happily take them again straight up for another crack at that defense.

SP packs are a fine October tradition for me--look forward to ordering them after their release.

I liked the one with the Russkies assaulting the Seelowe Heights (cannot remember the name)--the one I liked best was "Sergelyes Slugout",but then I love the late-war heavy metal slugfests.

Looking forward to SP9--any chance it will be out by end of April? Will make a great birthday present.

At one point it was scheduled for a May 1 or thereabouts release, but I don't know if that is still the plan.

The release date for Schwerpunkt #9 has not yet been determined. WE are very near the end of playtesting the scenarios and are entering the scnario analysis writing phase. All I can say at this point is that Schwerpunkt #9 will be printed well before Octoberfest.

Lets see I have played several scenarios from SP #8.

Seelow Seasaw is Epic mre fun then Hill 621.

Oder Bound was very interesting I agree the carrier SSR should be cleaned up. By stating that they receive inherent 248's in addition to the 248 riders on the card.

Hussum Hotfoot seems tough on the Brits...If the Germans Deploy, Deploy, and Deploy I doubt the brits will have enough time to track them all down.

Bridge at Stavelot was an absolute blast.

Burn Gurkha Burn a solid PTO action.

Probably played one or two other but can't recall off hand.

Overall I'm very happy with Schwerpunkt #8

Great job guys!

Evan,
Nice quote--just saw that movie the other night. Liked where George C. Scott expresses his wish for having a Doomsday machine!
