I try, but the Finns keep winning! Their OB is down to a wounded 8-0 and two Conscript half squads and they STILL keep kickin' Rooskie ass :)

I have looked at this. It is a quite small island. If someone makes a map I can have a look but there is not much of a game here I'm afraid.

The map is already done, as well as several scenarios.

This will be released with the re-edition of Saint Nazaire, as it has been often demanded... :) More later.

Only 5 or 6 of them, including several MGBs of course :)

No stairwell in the lighthouse?

15376

It's apparently the tallest lighthouse in Scandinavia.

Good to hear. Hopefully it turns out nicely!

There is another island Fight in Summer of 1942 at Someri. Have you looked into that? IMO it has more potential.

And then of course the German landings in September of 1944 at Suursaari.

Perhaps but it is an island. Remember we just had a thread about a scenario that featured an AFV that only had two produced. Island vs. an AFV whose Rarity Factor would be out of sight. I'm on the side of the island. ?

The Battle of Bengtskär Island had been designed with a map (above) and with 5 scenarios that can be stand-alone or linked into a micro-campaign. Yes there is a limited stairway in the lighthouse tower; 1st and 6th levels only with hazardous movement between the two.
As all entrances and exits from the playing area are across water, so there will also be MGB vs. MGB combat.
The MGB rules have been simplified for ease of play.
Bengtskär is in pre-production stage with LFT.

Yes there is work being done on Someri Island.
Map and TO&E for Finns/Russians collected.
Someri could be thought of as 4 small island all connected with small causeways. All are in LOS of each other and in Range for all heavy weapons (guns). Again MGB Rules will be required as all RGs must enter play be water.

Small island warfare has been neglected in ASL even though there were small island combats in every theater of WW2.

I love the map, and glad to see it's part of a pack.

I chose a different path for a map...

Bengtskär SSR: All Level 0 hexes are Water; non-Crag Level 0 terrain features do not exist.

With a 40 metre grid applied. I can see the value in exaggerating the size of the island for playability purposes - though to a point. Looks like the actual battle was decided in large part by the naval forces, which could be a unique twist for an ASL match.
