This has come up as my opponent and I decide on this scenario for tournament play (or not).
The 1988 Michicon version seems more accurate because the older DAGGER version has an SSR about non-existent aircraft. So it seems like a draft version (but so does a lot of DAGGER stuff from those days). The smudgy copy of the latter may show a dm 50 cal for the Russians. However, the tournament version shows a dm MMG, which is also nonsense, unless this is supposed to be an American lend lease MMG.
The tournament version does not allow bore sighting for the Germans but mandates interrogation be used (Russians in a hostile country). The original version allows bore sighting but mentions nothing about interrogation.
The last errata question (here on Gamesquad in 2007) about this scenario indicates that the original scenario dm HMG is to be used, but does not address the SSR differences.
