Is it correct that vehicular BMGs and CMGs cannot fire into their own hex because it is not considered part of their VCA or TCA?

No, the same hex is withing the VCA/TCA. See the C3.2 exception, and this old official Q&A:

C3.2 & D1.81-.2, D8.5 Can a Gun fire in its own hex (i.e., is its own hex considered in its CA)? Do
the same principles apply to BMG/CMG?
A. Yes; except during the MPh if the hex is entered from outside the CA, when, even if the
moving target now expends MP for some other purpose (e.g., firing sD or stopping and unloading
Passengers), the Gun would still have to turn its CA to include the direction from which the hex
was entered, or if the bow-mounted weapon of an Immobile vehicle (D8.5). Yes.

Thanks. What about an AAMG that is restricted so that it cannot fire in the VCA? Can it fire at a unit that enters its hex from inside the VCA?

Also the BMG or other bow mounted weapon of an immobile vehicle cannot fire into its own hex, or at enemy entering its hex through a non-bow hexside.

8.5 Assuming an Inherent crew that is not broken/stunned/shocked, a bogged/immobilized vehicle may still expend MP for "non-movement" purposes (e.g., to change TCA, [un]load PRC, fire Smoke Dispensers, etc.), and its firing capabilities are unchanged except as related to its inability to change VCA. However, after the phase (A.15) in which it becomes thusly Immobile, its bow mounted weapon(s) may be used against a target in that vehicle's hex only during Defensive First Fire (thus its BMG is unusable in CC), only if the target is entering that hex from within the vehicle's VCA, and only a number of times ≤ the MF/MP expended by the target to enter the hex. See also C2.6 (Depression/Elevation angle)
