In many sports the commentators will say "the rout is on" when one team is being badly beaton by another.

In chess, do we have "routs"?

My guess is if a game is over quickly enough it was a "rout".

How many moves must someone loose in for it to be considered a "rout"?

less than 15 maybe?

Chess has what are called miniatures, which is similar to a route. I'm not sure how many moves maximum qualifies though.

Good question. I don't think there is any accurate answer, but I would call a game 'a rout' if the losing player loses before he gets into the middle game.
