Hello, I have a question on RFP:

In our tournament game, Bob and I have the following situation: Germans fired to an American squad with 9FP. The attack failed and 4 RFP were placed. After that, Americans placed a smoke grenade in an adjacent hex, between themselves and the firers.

Bob's point is that RFP must be reduced to 1FP following A8.26 while I think that RFP must remain 4FP and would be 1FP only if fired AFTER smoke was placed (see footnote A12: "...regardless of LOS to the original firer..."). My point is that RFP is never reduced once it has been placed.

What's your oppinion on the subject?

You are correct Minaya. Residual FP is reduced by positive DRM to the IFT DR. Since that smoke didn't exist at the time of the attack, it didn't modify it and therefore had no effect on the RF.
