I don't know about a Big Mac but I paid $5.59 for an Egg McMuffin on Sunday. California minimum wage for fast food workers is $20 hr. That is $40,800 full time wages. Only middle age hispanic women work in fast food.
So, if I worked at McD's in CA, I could only afford 7,298.748 Egg McMuffin's a year. That's 19.98 Egg McMuffins per day. My doctor would NOT approve...

When I was 15, I went interrailing round Europe...1982...ticket was valid for a month, cost £125...I took £150 with me...lasted the month, booze, fags etc. Berlin , Paris, Vienna, Rome etc. Mind, this was well before the Euro.

As I remember, my parents' house cost about $4,000 in 1954.
Our house cost $27,500 in 1971.
Our house today is worth in excess of $200,000.
And that is how buying power is lost from your bank account.

Big Mac here in PA is $4.29 + Heart attack. Whoppers are $4.00+ 1 heart attack and indigestion.

I read the other day that a big mac Combo meal is $18.00 in NJ. So, if you're interested in the combo meal, I recommend you Pre-order it now! with some luck MMP will be sending the hex shaped burger boxes to the printers. As far as I know, the nationalities are Mc Donalds, Burger King, and Kochlöffel. Also note the Kochlöffel boxes will not be in SS colors so there may be a compatibility issue if eating their burgers while playing ABtF...
Don't forget the tipping all these fast food places are asking for now. And no doubt the workers depend on them to compensate for the measly wage.

This is one reason the "mars bar economy" works.
Figure out how many mars bars could be bought at that time and you can get a more realistic idea of whether items are more expensive or cheaper than before.
1970 average UK house price 3,840. Mars bar 3p. 128,000 mars

1980 house 20,897 mars bar 15p 139,393 mars

Now house 284,950 mars bar 1.20 237958 mars.
So house prices have almost tripled against spend8ng power.

100 against a 15p mars bar 666

248 against a 1.20 bar 206.

So ASK has become relatively a LOT cheaper.

One must also take into consideration that today's Mars Bar is appreciably smaller, less weight, than in 1970. At least in the States. Shrinkflation.
