Hi all

A8.26 states that the Residual Firepower is reduced one column in the IFT for every positive DRM caused between the firer and the target, but what happens if a unit fires at another and the target and/or the firer have SMOKE of any Type in his hex?

For example, two Americans 6-6-7 firing in the opponent MPh at two hex range at a moving SS 6-5-8 in OG without any hindrance, may create 6 RFP, but what would happens if:

A- There is Smoke in the American squad hex

or

B- There is Smoke in the SS squad Hex

or

C- Both hexes are covered with smoke

Many Thanks

Just a newbie, but it looks like...

Smoke in the shooters hex will cause the residual to come down 3 columns (so you need at least 12 FP to get a 1 residual). Smoke in the target hex has no effect on residual but will come into play on the resulting shot if anyone else moves through there.

Don't forget the +1 for firing out of a smoke location (A24.8)

Case A) If ordnance/OBA smoke (the +3 kind), the residual would be reduced zero (because it's a total of +4)

Case B) Smoke not outside the target hex so no reduction in residual (6).

Case C) No LOS exists between the 2 locations since the hindrance is +6 (or more)
