Thanks! You can try the following PDF-format history of the USMC involvement in the Battle for Seoul. It covers much of the actions found in the LFT module as well as well as in official ASL scenarios on the same battle. It is written by a well respected USMC historian and has pictures and maps.
I have read this one and have it in my library. It is definitively a hairraising account of the Tarawa landing and provides a very good coverage of the action. As far as I know, it is reputed to be among the most authoritative books on Tarawa. As I have only read this book focussing on Tarawa exclusively, I cannot make direct comparions to other books on the matter out there. What I can say, however, is that I have read many hundreds of books on WW2 and this one ranks among those which stand out.COL Joseph Alexander also wrote Utmost Savagery on Tarawa, Edson's Raiders and Storm Landings to name a few.
I too have read Utmost Savagery..... good, though in a way horrific read.......I have read this one and have it in my library. I can recommend it.
