Ok, the next Round (3) will begin within 2 weeks (more or less) so what I need is confirmation that you "Newbies" in rounds 1 &2 will be playing in Rounds 3 & 4 post below if you are.

Also, if there are any other newbies out there that want on the replacement list (if we have an odd # etc) post below & say so! :)

Reminder:
Seeing the Elephant- A new/inexperienced player event.

This event is open to all registered SZO CM Ladder members with the following restrictions/requirements applying: (they are still subject to change).

Event Moderators have the final say in who plays in this event.

1. You consider yourself to be new to CM (CMBB will be the version played).
2. You consider yourself to be inexperienced at playing CM.
3. If inexperienced you'd like some “instruction” on how to play a better game.
4. You have played 5 or less “Ladder” games anywhere (and still feel inexperienced).
5. Your only opponent up to now has been the A.I.

Tutors will be provided for players to ask tactical or game play questions- but not questions concerning the scenario being played.

{EDIT- Rd 1 is about to offically wrap up, Rd3 will begin when I know who is still in.}

Confirmed in:

Cherper/Rickie/JML
Antonius/Ada/Swing
Weags2/KG-Crimson/Joe Cz
Neon/Kineas/Stndrtnfhr
Okimaw/simonsezdie/Gen Schmaeter
John Powderly/redbear415/Setanta

Still interested

My Rd 1 opponent dropped out and I am halfway or a little more through Rd 2. Definitely still want to continue.

Oh, by the way, will we be playing against previous opponents?
The short answer to this is no.
I believe that one point of having a tourney is for players to play against other players they might otherwise never meet. Thus I try hard to make sure you always play someone new.

The key word here is RANDOMLY:
1. The first thing I do is give every player a random number based on the numbers of players involved.
2. Then I randomly pair the numbers (not the players names).
3. I then check to see if any players matched have met in a previous round.
4. If so I take those "numbers," then randomly use about 1/4 of the other numbers & re-match them up.
5. Repeat steps 3-4.

If there's just one or two pairs re-matched I'll just randomly select new opponents. When a tourney hits rounds 4+ this gets harder to do & then some players will just have to replay each other.

Note: Due to the chaotic nature of StE's rds 1 & 2 some players MAY be rematched.

I'm still in, although my round 2 game has still not started :(
Since this isn't a tournament in the normal sense of the term, but what is "normal" about Palantir? You will be just fine!

Start and finish the games as you have time. I believe Palantir plans on leaving the threads open on the first two scenarios for awhile at least.

So, PLAY ON!!!!

Good Luck and Good Hunting.
