Hi folks - its been some time since I posted here so I thought I would update you on what is going on with my life and game work.

1. John Tiller Software

I have been working steadily on a Napoleonic title (please no conjecture ... its not Eylau or the Peninsular Wars games) and have done a lot of work on this one. Working on the campaign files at present, going over artwork review and so on. Another great title for the series.

The Eckmuhl mod - I am still going to do this but I need to keep my priorities straight. It will get done (as the Wagram mod was done) but I want to make sure it gets done right and I cant spend the time on it that it would deserve at this time.

Leipzig update: there are a lot of PDT files that need updating - the 15 min. PDT files to be exact. I need to get this one done after I finish up with my current game project OR by the end of this summer at the latest. I am removing the HIGH WALL hexes in Leipzig (and several other cities where they may be found) as they seem to cause the game to become more of a siege operation than a battle. Leipzig was taken by the 19th and the game should allow for this. As it stands the French can put skirmishers at the Gate hexes and hold off the Allies almost indefinitely.

Other game updates:

Eckmuhl - I have a few files for this game but they will have to wait.

Campaign 1814 - corrections to the large Brie Plateau map and other files as well. I also want to review the victory levels for certain scenarios.

-------------------------------------------------

Future work:

Computer games
Napoleonic project - a programmer and I are in the development stages of a brand new Napoleonic series. I cant go into specifics but it is area movement and brigade/regimental level. This will allow us to fight entire battles in a reasonable amount of time. New unit values/characteristics will be introduced to give the players a feeling that the unit is more than just a "4-4-5" counter on the map.

We have a working model going and this coming month development will resume. Eventually looking to release this one through a company that I have been in discussion with for my future computer game projects.

Special Forces Series - I want to get a series of Special Forces games released. This will include topics like the SAS in N.Africa, Vietnam operations, etc. There will be a planning phase, you will deploy/move the units to the operational area, recon, etc. Mainly a solo game.

Jules Verne/HG Wells game series ... I would like to do a couple of games that are about the "Victorian Science Fiction" genre. Wont go into details here as it is still in its infancy.

Board games:

Special Forces Series - as above but will have a two player option for those that want to play the unsuspecting guards, Viet Cong, Bin Laden's bodyguards, etc.

Eastern Front - area movement game. Units will have "Tech Levels" and other unit values to give the units more historical feel than just being an "8-10-12" armored unit.

Have other ideas as well but for now have said enough ...

Life update:
I have been barely making ends meet each month. I rent a room at a house and help manage the property when the owner is away - which is quite a lot - I finally have a better room - hey, even have a fridge, carpet and a ceiling fan!:D

My health continues to be an issue ... I have to watch how much time I spend at the PC each day. I have a hernia that needs surgery but I would like to avoid going the VA route. I want to use a specialist a friend of mine knows of. Need to get health insurance and I might be looking into that soon with a Co-Op my friend is with.

I provided the Napoleonic Wargame Club members with a link to where folks can help support me during this time. If you are interested please contact me and I will email you the PayPal link.

Once I get a regular job again things will get back to normal. As I am relying on the bus service commuting work for now is a slow process (when I was working in June-Aug of last year it took me 2 hours one way).

Thanks for the past notes of encouragement! I hope to get more games out in the coming years.

Quick followup ... most of the work on my JTS title is done. Just have a few things to finish up on that one. Hoping to get some kind of job after that and get my bank account into a better situation.

Weather here was brutal through late June and into all of July. Finally this week its been lovely .. very rare here for August. As my room has no air conditioning I do most of my work in the morning to mid afternoon and then shut down for about 4 to 5 hours to give the PC a break. Back on at 8-9pm and I work til about 1-2am.

Thankfully this wont go on for much longer. Will be glad to have a regular routine and eventually get my own place.
