Question on Delayed Notes

I've conducted a cursory search for information on Delayed Notes in VASSAL/VASL without success.

The question i have is: I can't seem to delete a note once I save it. If the note, for a boresighted hex for example, has an error, I can't delete it. The best I've been able to come up with is to reveal the note and ignore it.

As I play more and more VASL, i'm interested in learning how to use more of the features available. The delayed notes is my first such foray in to learning more VASL.

Thanks in advance

Wouldn't deleting a delayed note with an error be equivalent changing your bore sighting hex after the fact? It would seem that revealing the note and declare it an erroneous note would be the proper flow, but perhaps I don't fully understand the intent of the feature.

Personally I use HIP Acq counters for boresighted hexes. You can see them during play which is a big bonus and I don't play with people I don't implicitly trust not to cheat online. YMMV.

I want to change the delayed note BEFORE the start of play (e.g. note written to bore sight X2 when i mean to bore sight Y2). Not being able to edit or delete a note before start of play seems like a waste of a good system feature.

I hadn't considered HIP Acq's which sound like a really good idea. Thanks for that tip.

If you do not play the game in one session only, the delayed notes get lost anyway.

So this feature is not of much use in the first place.
