A crew attempts to Push a Gun and fails the Manhandling DR, becomes TI, and a labor status counter is placed. During his opponent's next turn an enemy vehicle comes into the Gun crew's LOS. This has generated three questions:
A) Can the crew drop labor status and fire at the enemy unit during the Mph or DFph?
B) Can the crew drop labor status and fire during the crew's next Player turn and not be committed to completing the Pushing attempt if he so desires?
C) Even though the Pushing attempt has failed, is the Gun and crew still considered to have "moved", thus losing their Emplacement TEM?

Thanks, Paul S

A) The Gun can fire at the enemy and will regardless retain Labor Status.
B) Nothing forces you to complete the task in any way for which you got Labor Status.
C) Emplacement TEM is only lost if the Gun has exited the hex in which it was Emplaced.

vM, Thanks for the quick response. Its pretty slick that the crew can still fire while in the process of pushing the Gun. And I guess no Hazardous Movement DRM when it isn't the crew's player turn (since TI counter removed at end of their turn).

Hazardous Movement for pushing a Gun only applies during the MPh it is (attempted to) pushed.

Well, I would picture it that they just made maybe 10 meters of the up to 40 to leave the hex when they set the Gun down again to fire.
As many other things, it is a game mechanism.

Sure, it just may represent them getting the ammo together, trailing the gun, etc., let your imagination run wild; but as you say it's a game mechanism.

All I know is that there is a carrier dancing around in front of the Gun that is in for a big surprise.
Thank you two for the feedback.

Well, if it is moving, it will get at least a +2 DRM TH, plus being a Very Small Target another +2 DRM. This will mean you will probably need a Final 6TH DR. Which is a chance of 41.7%.

So, more likely than not, it will continue to dance even after your shot.

When the gun fails the movement attempt does it get a free Cover Arc change?

Yes vM, the carrier crew's dance changed from a Waltz to a Shake, Rattle, and Roll with a near miss from the Gun. The Gun has since found bigger fish to fry.
