Can anyone tell me where four T-34 M43 counters, AA-DD, came from? Didn't see anything by searching Reid Hutchinson's armory for Armies of Oblivion or Beyond Valor....or maybe I'm imagining things? Thanks.

The T34 M43 AA was an experimental anti-aircraft mount. The T34 M43 DD was also experimental, but amphibious, using a canvas skirt. @Paul M. Weir can probably tell you more about them.

JR
and the T34 M43 AA-DD model was a one-off ultra experimental AFV designed to provide self-propelled Anti Aircraft armored mounts for seaborne assaults using an amphibious design with removable canvas skirts. :)

Well since the subject came up, there were 2 T-34 AA variants.

The Germans put a quad 2cm FlaK 38 on a single T-34. From memory that was done by the 653 PzJg Abteilung, one of the Elephant units.

Post war the Chinese put twin 37mm AA guns in a new turret on T-34s and used in Vietnam.

"Big Boobs" meant to distract the Landsers during close assaults.
No, no, NO! "BB" means battleship. When Stalin heard about the German Ratte project, a monstrous landship with twin 28.1cm guns, he had to do one better. He wanted to mount a 15"/351mm gun from the never completed Project 69 Kronshtadt class battlecruiser on a land mount. He dropped the idea when told that it was too big to parade in Red Square. ;)

The EE was named a teenager girl crying after her beloved pop star.
The FF was named by SS guys whose teeth were broken.

and Paul brings us back to reality, thank goodness!
Except that part about the German using war elephants! Now I've seen a few pics of them using elephants from the Berlin Zoo to help clear rubble, but I think their use was rather dated as an element of the WW-II German Blitzkreig warfare. (Having said as much, it's always well advised to be cautious when disputing Paul's claims though).

no no no no... P.O.C.K. Proof Of Carnal Knowledge - the only thing that really counts. - "close" only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades (and 88mm HE shells detonating, of course.)
Always advisable to have a little stand-off distance with atomic weapons as well.
