Can somebody explain to me the rationale for putting the Pro Bowl before the Super Bowl?

To my way of thinking, it makes no sense. If I were owner or coach of a Super Bowl team, I wouldn' t allow any of my Pro Bowl players to play. If the league were to fine me, I'd be all too happy to pay. Priorities, after all.

I honestly think that nobody would watch the NFL Pro Bowl, regardless of when it was scheduled. Totally different animal than the MLB All Star game, and baseball is not as likely to generate the injuries that football can.

I don't understand it either and I have to believe this will get changed back. While it's true nobody watches the Pro Bowl, it still doesn't make any sense to put it before the Super Bowl.
