Pre-Game vehicle Abandonment

Can vehicles be abandoned (and SW removed) before play starts? In particular the M3A1(a) Scout Car (SaF).

Any rule and/or previous Q&A references would be appreciated.

The rules only allow (barring an SSR) to Abandon a vehicle during the MPh :

D5.41 A crew may abandon its vehicle only during its own MPh...

I note that in Hatten in Flames that HF7 allows removal or abandonment for only specific vehicles at setup. So check the HASL/CG SSRs to see if it is allowed. Otherwise, NA.
