Playtesters for East Front Project – wanted

Guys,

I’m hoping to find about 6-10 serious ASL 2-man teams to playtest a large, East-front project designed for MMP (which is ‘very interested’ in publishing this prospective project - provided a final decision).

Project: ‘Kursk’ (it’s big)

Components: 5 new standard layout geoboards / 5 new ½ sheets of overlays (necessary to better represent the open, Russian terrain)

Scenarios: 12-15 & 1 Campaign Game, using existing and new boards/overlays. Scenarios are ready to play and the CG is under development.

Maps/ OLs: Hand-painted / high Playtest quality, colorized, cropped and ready to use with other standard sized boards. (VASL - NA for now)

Map/OL Themes:

• 2x Open terrain (to better simulate east front topography)
• 1 Straggling Russian village board / balkas
• 2x Hill (double-wide) boards – fairly open terrain (new ‘no plateau effect” SSRs)
• Overlays: Various – Grain, Orchard, -1 Balka, Wooden building strips, etc.

Scenarios: Majority are ‘tourney-sized’, with combined arms, OB choices (P.Shelling style). The current scenario subject – Kursk / Northern salient (possible southern salient scenarios pending design and PT).

The plan would be this: If interested and seriously committed to playtest the existing and future scenarios, please PM me. Such commitment would involve playtesting multiple scenarios and providing feedback over the next 1-6 months. If if you want to be part of this project, I will send each team the above materials via mail*. I plan to submit this project in full to MMP by late ‘24 / very early ‘25, pending playtesting.

I would help but me and Tom are tied up in the Dispatch #58 playtest and have a large, eastern front scenario (along with 3 others including ETO, PTO & Desert) that will take up a ton of time to deal with. You will get more players involved once it gets on VASL. Sounds like a very worthy project and wish you well with it. I'll look to pre-order it ASAP when getting ready to print, Vic.

Yeah, 4 more scenarios to confirm and they are all barn burners, one borders on monster size (damn Russians) and will need a bit of work to get them ready. Good luck and roll low!
