Playtest Saturday Night
Scenario played, Q14 - True to Form
Jay Simpson (German Attacker) v. George Kelln (British Defender)
Objective: Germans must amass
> 14 VP. Each Stone Buildings controlled has VP equal to is number of hexes it is comprised of.
End of Turn 1 - the Germans were recovering from forgetting that is raining; this mistake hampered them moving forward as British fire laid down a withering Residual Fire that resulted in a couple of broken squads.
End of Turn 2 - the Germans have managed to move across the road into the first line of buildings; Brits are playing a bit cagey, skulking back and gaining concealment where possible. A quick relocation of the MMG from G4 to K4 kept it back and safe from being left behind should the HS break manning it. Created both a Hero and a Fanatic Squad during the turn.
End of Turn 3 - despite losing some units, the Germans keep grinding forward. Brits are continuing to skulk while slowing down the Germans. Some bold moves by the Germans resulted in the loss of a few units. German assault gun moved int H6 and started lobbing in shell into K4, forcing the 9-1, MMG, & 2-4-8 to pullback.
End of Turn 4 - like the slowing creeping blue tide, the Germans keep coming. Gaining a foothold in the G4 building and preparing to assault the D3 building, the Germans have rebounded at least once from 2-3 squads broken. Brits continue to move back and forth keeping out the way of the German fire.
End of Turn 5 - the Germans have amassed 9 of a required 14 VP, with fighting continuing for 3 VP of building G4 (3 VP) and D3 (5 VP). Germans have screened the left side of the village while trying to bring guns to bear on the Brits left in the D3, F2. & G4 buildings.
End of Turn 6 - Germans attempted 2x last turn Close Combats in buildings G4 and D3; if they win both, they will have achieved a victory. The Germans win the first and capture D2 (2 VP), but a Ambushed by a Concealed Brit 4-5-8 in G3. This squad quick withdraws to G4 to secure victory for the Brits.
