OK. Just got H3ANW.

Just downloaded PlayersDB 6.4.9 into Databases folder.

Both player and editor crashes as soon as I try to display the platform window.

Any ideas?

That will usually happen if you have not properly installed the PlayersDB. The PlayersDB requires 6 text files. These are included in the *.ZIP files that are downloaded. You need to ensure that those files are unzipped into the correct folder and all of the files will be installed for you properly.

If you are using H3.6.3 the instructions are:

How to install the PlayersDB for Harpoon v3.6.3:

For best results, simply unzip this file directly into your Harpoon3 folder.

C:\.....\Harpoon3

OR, the manual method would be:

Find and replace these 23 *.DAT / *.RES files on your hard drive with the files provided in the PlayersDB.zip file. (No need to adjust any others) Otherwise, YOUR GAME WILL NOT WORK.

*** Make A BACKUP Copy of your files Before you replace them. ***

Most players will find these files in their Harpoon3 DATABASE sub-folder, DAT2 sub-folder, and RESOURCE sub-folder.
For ANW, the instructions are:

Installation instructions for the PlayersDB with ANW:

Unzip this file directly into your ANW Databases folder. If you used the default installation path, you will find it here:

C:\Matrix Games\Harpoon 3 Advanced Naval Warfare\Databases
Please post if the problem persists.

If you unzip the PlayersDB-v6.4.9 [ANW] directly into the ANW Databases folder, it will create the necessary sub-folders [Text and Scenarios] inside the PlayersDB folder.

The DAT2 file is for the Harpoon 3.6.3 installation (the older version. You should not have to worry about it in ANW. :smoke:
