The pinned topics here need to be weeded out and reduced. Some haven't been posted to in a year or more, while at least one shouldn't have been pinned in the first place.

Sorry, OMOOT. What is a pinned topic, how is it done, who does it, and why does it matter?

I tried a search and clicked the pin symbol but got nothing. I'm just curious.

One thread was unpinned (A lifetime of ASL items).
I don't see which others should be - even if nobody posts in a thread, if it contains useful references, pinning it makes sense.

The threads that stay at the top of the board even without new posts. They have little pushpin icons, hence "pinned".

I agree that some of the pinned topics can and should be removed (unpinned) due to lack of traffic, postings, age, etc. I will say the "What have you played recently" thread is one of my go-to threads and recommend that stays pinned as the data validates it usefulness and relative popularity.
