US squad advances into a hex where there is a Japanese half squad in a foxhole and a pillbox with a Japanese crew and leader.

1. The US squad and Japanese half squad fight, while the pillbox and it's contents aren't involved. Does the +2 pillbox ambush modifier count for this combat?

2. Assume the US squad kills the Japanese half squad. The Japanese crew and leader advance out of the pillbox into the hex with the US squad so they can make it hand to hand.
Is this an advance into CC or was a CC counter placed when the Japanese half squad was killed i.e is ambush rolled for or not?
If ambush is rolled for does the +2 pillbox ambush DRM count or not? (as the CC is outside the pillbox).

Yes it is advance into CC - though Ambush is only rolled for if this is a woods hex and/or any units involved are concealed.

Not count.

The most probable reason for the "No" answer to the first question and a "Yes" answer to the second is that the PB is a separate Location within the hex if this might help you to remember the replys.
