Well, i prefer better as war of independence becuse i think that for English battles in 1808 between spanish troops and french troops arent part of the campaign only battle of Elviña and reguard actions to A Coruña could be covered and of course the "battles" in Portugal.

I prefer see peninsular war (i use this) in a single game BUT for 60 euros or a little more if you can add a what if for 1815 with Spain attacking France, a small campaign with small actions and a "big" battle where D units rule... but i see this impossible and think that peninsular war is more close to a chapter style game and i say before in other post that could be 1-Invasion, 2-Stalemate and 3-To France (with the small what if 1815)

Well, only can wait and see what is the next nap title... i see Leipzig or something covering 1813-14 and Italy.

Andrew, where so you plan to publish it online when you are done, Napoleon series?
Yes, eventually. But I've a project still in hand that uses the stuff, so it'll have to wait until after that. Am happy to supply snapshots to folk interested in a particular regiment or battle in the meantime though.

Thanks for the comment Rahamy, then the question is now 2 or 3 titles. My guess is 2 :) Though Xaver's 1-Invasion, 2-Stalemate and 3-To France seems fine, perhaps 3 titles is too much

And related with this, what about 1814 in south France, as part of a future 1814 game, or as the last part of the PW...

Andrew, thanks. By the way, did Rahamy request your data? That would be an important clue in order to know if the game is already been tested or not. I have the feeling that the game is more or less finished and tested ;)

It will not be broken down into a year by year handling, of that I can assure you. More than one title to cover the 6 or so years, most likely, but not 6 seperate titles.
I knew you were getting soft in your old age.....

English is not my native language, so not sure of what are you talking about. But if you are referring to Rahamy commenting more than he should... Well I hope he comments even more ;) It is not a bad thing to give little details to increase the expectations, IMHO of course :)

Regarding the battle of Medina de Rioseco (July 14, 1808). These maps, Oman's and Google maps, look very similar, with the cental feature of the Paramo :) Bessières advancing from Palacios to Medina de Rioseco to meet Cuesta and Blake armies.

Please no more hype :mad::laugh:

Talking about PW for me do it in one title is the best option, in 2 the second (covering from 1808 to... 1811 and another title covering from 1811 in Castilla to the end in Aragon, Castilla for Salamanca battle and finally Vitoria and the small what if for 1814-1815) use 3 titles is only a best option if you cover all in this 3 titles even the minor battles.

And now talking about the next title... one is in test phase ... is possible see it in this year??? are 5 months to test it and even with an intensive test bugs are present (i remember the one that find in Austerlitz with the fixed units in Caldiero) i am curious to see this new title i know that isnt PW but i think that this title is an "extreme" title because or cover the initial napoleonic battles or cover the last period :smoke:

Why PW is not the next? Rahamy commented on 1807 not being the next, but not PW ;)

But now that you talk about minor battles, which is the minimum size for a napoleonic battle to appear in a HPS game? If there is any :) For example Romanov action (polish cavalry vs cossacks) in not present in Russian campaign, is it?

Well, Rahamy only say not 1807 post Jena (before Austerlitz i allways think that next nap title was this) not no PW but as he say PW has more than 1 title and i think that they want work in PW and dont break it with another title in the middle, when we see PW the 2 or 3 (or more) titles one behind the other.

Minor actions... well, the limit is the main OOB or OOBs for paticular battles, they do small scens using then, some actions arent part of a big battle because the units dont fight in it or are add-hoc units i think that they are going to do 2 or 3 titles based on the main battles with variants.

In nap titles small actions are allways battle episodes or in Rusia you can find 1 or 2 small battles like one covering polish defense of a depot iin Borisov but here we talk 4.000-5.000 soldiers per side and 20 turns... 5 hours of battle

PD: Romanov action in Borodino is covered as independent scen but i think that is from a pack of tactical scens upload here.

No, is included in the pack of Konstantin is the scen called BSS_Uvarov

"Platov's cossacks have discovered a previously undetected ford across the Kolocha River near Maloe, and sent word of it to Kutuzov. Upon hearing this, Colonel Toll suggests - and Kutuzov agrees - that attacking across the river with the 8,000 cavalry presently in position on their right flank could upset the French attack and possibly turn the French left flank. ( F:8783 R:9773 Inf: 2/2 Cav: 6/4 Art: 3/4 )"

Only the units that fight in the action are active, rest are fixed and if you dont attack them they continue fixed because there isnt a release feature for this troops.

Well, I cannot find it... Can you post a direct link?

Now, coming back to the topic of the PW. What about the music?

In this link there are examples of french and Spanish military music. I think there is no problem, in the public domain :OHNO:

Spanish popular music, not adequate for a wargame I suppose

And English music Sharpes's of course :) Over the Hills and Far Away is very very nice

How about excerpts from Rodrigo's, Concerto de Aranjuez. Ok , it is not Napoleonic but it definitely is Spanish and sounds epic and symphonic for the period. I used to listen to Haydn' s, " Military Overture" when playing Borodino and Eylau at Boardgame battalion level. Apart from one annoying tune in the Jena game - I don't really have a issue with the music. :(

AFAIK the engine will play any .wav file located at the Music folder. So in fact this feature is very moddable ;)

I wonder by HPS/JT has not switched to .mp3, being smaller

Thanks but that one is Borodino, Step by step and BSS_Uvarov seems to be a flanking movement by the cossacks in the french left, but Romanov was a different action, I think

Ummm i dont remember now the action time but the scen represents the troops engaged and the battlefield.... see the mill near the lake in the french lines and i remember that is the same as in Digby Smith book about cavalry charges... maybe i am wrong.
