Can two AFV's in a platoon move as an overstacked stack so as to make only one bog check through wire?

It seems legit.
Of course, they will spend +1 MP per hex entered for overstacking.

I thought that if a platoon of AFV moves into two adjacent hexes with wire, there is only one bog check and then random selection.
I remember that is the way it works for moving into two woods hexes at least.

Maybe you are thinking of the problem of one following the other in your question though.

That is the case if everybody in the platoon enters the bog hex on the same MP.

I was referring to moving two AFV's as a stack together into one hex at the same time.

OK....I guess you can move overstacked vehicles as a stack with platoon movement. That means only one bog roll for the whole stack with RS choosing the bogged unit. A sleaze that took me by surprise.

Not much of a sleaze tactic with my RS rolls as of late! o_O:eek:

Platoon movement also works for mechanical reliability startup rolls, slightly decreasing the chance that the second or or third AFV immobilizes.

The single DR for mechanical reliability or bog for the platoon is a game mechanic, because it is a game.

Twice I have witnessed a three-AFV-platoon of early war Russian tanks with Red MP roll a 6,6 when starting, followed by an RS of 1,1,1.
That's just an indication that you play a lot of early-war games with Russian tanks :)

Doesn't look legit to me.

14.3 IMPULSE MOVEMENT: Impulse Movement is a form of movement where units in different Locations coordinate their movement. This represents situations such as Human Wave (A25.23) or Platoon Movement (14.2).

By definition, overstacked moving vehicles can't be using platoon movement.

So if you end up in the same hex, you can't use platoon movement next turn? What if 2 are in 1 hex and another adjacent,?
