I recently learned from ASOP that you can fire "ordnance, SMOKE" and MOL-Projectors before attempting Radio Contact in the PFPh. However, when comparing with DFPh, there is one subtle difference - it speaks of "ordnance SMOKE".

Beside the (for me) surprising fact that you can try for SMOKE before deciding how to use your OBA both in the PFPh and the DFPh I think that the the comma in 2.12A is erroneous?

Thanks!

Step 2.12A should say: "May fire ordnance-SMOKE (C8.5-.51)/MTR-IR (E1.91; E1.93-.932),.."

I.e., hyphens - instead of commas. I believe this error was introduced in the 2nd Edition of the ASOP.

So you can only fire SMOKE from Ordnance before OBA actions - not Ordnance in general.

Thank you Klas!

The ASOP is a treasure trove of surprises.
