ASL Gurus,

A MTR at ground level has LOS to a 8-1, 7-4-7 & HMG at Level 2 in a stone building. The MTR wants to drop SMOKE on the stack, but does not have LOS to ground level of the building hex (LOS is blocked by wall 3 hexes from the MTR and 2 hexes from building).

Can the MTR still make a TH roll for SMOKE?

If yes, I assume a hit would place SMOKE at the ground level; am I correct?

(I believe a similar question was asked recently; but I couldn't locate the thread - my apologies)

Thanks - Velo

The MTR can fire at any level it can see. Because it has LOS to a KEU it not use the case K (concealed) DRM does not apply. If the ordnance is firing WP units it hits as well as those at the base level (where the counter is placed) are affected by the WP NMC. Affecting an out-of-LOS unit with a placed WP counter is known as "The Bishop rule." Always refer to it as such.

In this case because the ordnance is a MTR, if the MTR hits the hardest-to-hit non-HIP in LOS target it would hit all out-of-LOS targets also, causing WP NMCs on all of them.
