Todd,

So where is the official statement about the Bridge TEM, then? I don't necessarily expect a reversal (though I personally don't agree with the current ruling), but I would expect that someone official could write a carefully considered summary of the various points brought up by the community along with a final decision and justification. FWIW, I believe Portal has said that he would be satisfied by such a statement as well.
For the record, you're bang-on correct. And I know MMP has received some direct corespondence on this topic already, because I sent Perry an e-mail on behalf of a number of players on this issue back in Fall 2006. Perry did reply that he received my message and would take it under consideration. Nobody has heard a peep since.

All,

Anyways, I'll be done with the thread-jack here also. If anybody would like to discuss in a new thread, please feel free to start. My self-imposed MMP discussion ban has concluded. :)

Marcus,

Perry is NOT ignoring you. If you understand what he states, "under consideration", does NOT mean he is ignoring you.

Did you "propose the question in the form of a "Yes/No" answer?

Once you propose that question in that form to Perry, then a "Perry Sez" is generated and THEN it becomes "Official".

Kevin,

I never claimed Perry was outright ignoring me. I will claim, however, that MMP has been irresponsible in its customer relationship management on this whole communications issue thus far. All of us should have had access to a public statement on this topic by now.

All,

Now back to your regularly scheduled thread on product optimism... :)

Do not project your obsession on the rest of us. Nobody else cares that MMP did not respond to your querulous design question.

The advent of the Internet has made gamers expect a modicum of two-way communication with a game's creators. That's no doubt inconvenient to you, but it's a fact.
Perhaps we should not blindly accept that this "fact" is, and should be, an always reasonable and acceptable expectation. Not to belabor the point you have made about communication and customer relations, but this Internet generation tends to expect more and more for "free", simply because it is on the Internet. These expectations extend not only to goods, but also to services and to communication.

I am merely adding this as a counterpoint to your assertion.

I should also like to point out that MMP is not the game's creator. Call it a quibble; I understand you were making a point.

ASL is an unbelievably good game, with a tremendously large, supportive, and knowledgeable community. But it could be an even better game with an even larger and more enthusiastic community if MMP stepped up and supported it to a greater degree.
If the community is already tremendously large, supportive and knowledgeable, especially in proportion to its niche within the gaming hobby, how will it possibly get any larger or more supportive?

Yeah, yeah, pull out the old 'keep product on the shelf' argument. But are the young players there? Hundreds of them? Please. The young players are going to inherit more games than they will purchase, eventually. We'll see, if we live long enough.

Good lord, Marcus. You're going way over the top with this thing.

Really now, "irresponsible in its customer relationship management on this whole communications issue thus far"?

Making such a solemn comment about such an umimportant subject, raises doubts about how I shall regard future statements made by you.

Regards,
Bruce

Personally i think it's irresponsible of MMP not to publish a Mission Statement.

How is MMP going to acheive that special synergy without a proper Mission Statment, as well as effective customer communications and relations management?

I'm outraged!

Let's not forget about their Strategic Vision.

I think they need a business consultant.

"Of course, how could i forget Strategic Vision? I demand Strategic Vision"

Don't forget the progessive paradigm. No horsesh*t mission statement can make do without use of the word "paradigm".

Thats it. Now you've done it. You've crossed the line.

How dare you mock "paradigm"...... What are you, a Republican? Or what?

Anyhow, shouldn't you be at a caucus or some such?

Huh?

"How dare you mock "paradigm"

Maybe because it is so highly mockable. Is that a word?

"Anyhow, shouldn't you be at a caucus or some such?"

1830 tonight, leaning toward Ron Paul, fairly undecided after that. See previous discussion regarding appropriate caucus attire (i.e. charcoal grey, pinstriped woolen speedo). :)
