What are the defacto best scenarios for the newbie?
Both for the infantry newbie and for the vechicle newbie.
I found the attempts at humour in Chapter K too much to bear. I guess your mileage may vary.ktodd said:Not a scenario, but a walkthrough on the maps with Chapter K is always helpful.
Did I say anything about the humor? The question was about learning ASL. There are very good examples of play in it.atuline said:
PeteJust a question about W2 The Front in Flames scenario.
SSR 7 seems to imply that only units begining in Melee lose concealement thus other units, even in LOS and Open Ground of enemies, begin Turn 1 concealed.
Please note that this link now dead. The new address is as follows: http://homepage.urbanet.ch/aborel/ASL/index.htmlA few years ago, Alain Borel translated a series of articles from
the french gaming magazine "Vae victus" and put them up on
The beauty of these articles is that they are designed to introduce
newcomers to ASL. Each article comes with a scenario that is used
to illustrate the concepts outlined in each article. Furthermore, the
scenarios are designed to cater for different levels of familiarity with
the system, so even we jaded veterans looking for a quick, fun scenario
that caters for our knowledge can find something to work with.
This series of articles are pretty well unknown to the greater ASL
populace which is a shame as there is much to be gained from
downloading them and utilising them.
