Don -
Really enjoying your descriptions. My own campaign using a British Rifle Company has now made it all the way to Holland in 1944.
One question - how were you able to add the Russian Generation Table to your VASL game? I have the scenario table from ASL players.net but can't figure out how to add the generation tables.

Thanks - Tom

Cesper Aufklärung Kompanie/Standarte Nordland

Rawa Rusha, Ukraine. 1 July 1941

German Turn 10

Cesper's Personal log 0628 hours

Everyone is in command except for Voss and his PSW 222.
29317

Shultz is continuing to recon forward as per the mission and uncovered another map ahead of the company with a strange village to the south with a lone VPO. Time might be running out though.

Cesper's Personal log 0629 hours

Another report from Shultz, another village appears on the endless horizon and again not VPO from either Battalion and Regiment, nor even Division, we are in uncharted territory but the battle scars show that someone fought here.

Cesper's Personal log 0629 hours

Well Caub's platoon is reporting that much to their surprise they discovered a Russian T-26 M33 in a wooden hut, it could have been much worse but they are pinned for the moment.
29318

PSW 222 decided that being aggressive is the best part of valor or an early ride to valhalla and changed forward to support their comrades in arms. The Soviet tankers took the bait and spun their turret yet again and intensive fired but no such luck for the Russians this time, they seemed to have jammed the gun or run out of ammo.
29319

Everything else in this particular village seems to be a ghosts other than the T-26.

Russian Turn 10

Cesper's Personal log 0628 hours

Well the Squad locked in Melee with that T-26 was reduced to a HS but they managed to infiltrate back out of the melee hex.

That ends the Russian turn and the AI rolls a 1 to end the mission!

29321

Will do wrap up tomorrow morning. What a crazy mission! But quite fun.

sitrep

to be continued...and more to follow in mission # 2...

Cesper Aufklärung Kompanie/Standarte Nordland

Rawa Rusha, Ukraine. 1 July 1941

End of Mission

Cesper's Personal log 0635 hours

The final result for the mission is a resounding success.

Regiment indicated the Russians gained 20 VPs to our 30 VPs. It was not without cost however.

Our dead thus far are:

PSW 222

Eliminated & Retained: 5x 2-4-8 HS and 1x 1-2-7 crew

Eliminated from OB: 3x 2-4-8

to be continued…

I’m
Tom, you have to save it as either a png or html table.

I’ll try to post a way to do so tomorrow.

Awesome! I started playing this campaign and finished the first scenario a couple of months ago. Ahriman667 also suggested this one to me....should he be getting promotion rights? :)

Hmmm, I know that Ahriman667, ChappyNS, and for sure myself are SASL that makes 3 of us, we should to a GSASL game, each taking a company and we'd have a battalion to fight with.

Caub almost did a very bone head move, he sheepishly admits not following the "unwritten" Combat Field Manual tactic of moving as a stack in the open to verify a S? unit. In his case he is very lucky that the Russians only have submachine guns or I would have been forced to write him up at best or write to his parents in the worst case scenario. But for now we will let this mistake pass.
.
The number of times I do this, wow. I always have to tell myself not to move as a stack, and yet I continue to do so. Thanks for detailed AAR.

Tom have you posted an AAR? If so where? Very cool on getting to Holland.

I took a screen shot of it and then used the draggable overlay label with no background and used this:

<html><img src="file:///c:\ASL\SASL\SASL-Images\Russian-Generation-Table.PNG" alt="" /></html>

You'll have to change the path to be whatever you save it too, and also whatever name you use for the png.

No AAR posted, it is hard enough for me to squeeze out playing time right now, no time for writing AARs.
Maybe if things settle down when the kids start back to school in September.
