It's been a while since I've seen any comments about bridges :D

Should I start off with the obvious? I'd feel dirty if I did, so instead...

"MP penalties for entering a hex with a wreck or vehicle are doubled on a bridge"

From a recent Perry Sez: if you're on a bridge and the bridge happens to be in a hex with a wall, you can be Hull Down because of the wall.

Annoying and non-intuitive to me, but there it is. Matters for at least one bridge on bd 41, the one in the middle of the board.

The obvious? You mean that bridges make it easier to cross gullies and water obstacles?

One other thing only slightly less obvious. When I started playing I completely missed the requirement that you exit "straight off" the bridge. I was trying to enter / exit the bridge by jumping off to the side...

Entering and exiting a bridge location must be done from a road hex that connects to the bridge. (maybe an exception for climbing, NASLRBH).

Units under the bridge has no LOS to units above the bridge, but they have unobstructed LOS to the two entrance hexes.

Roadblock

The Saving Private Ryan Tactic: One lane bridges block vehicles when a vehicle or wreck occupies it (Exc +2 size vehicles)......Anyone ever see a scenario with a one lane bridge?

The terrain "on" the bridge is a road
which means in connection with the "connect directy" clause of B 6.1
that units moving on or the bridge
suffer from the increased DFF possibilities of A 4.132

Running over a bridge can be very dangerous, bestowing upon enemy units shooting down the length of the bridge an extra -1 DRM.

Many people have played this incorrectly at times.

Weight limits are increased to the weight of the heaviest vehicle that sucessfully crosses a bridge.

Ole, can a unit under a bridge set a DC to destroy the bridge?
Surprisingly (at least to me), yes. "A Final KIA result on a Set DC attack results in the destruction of any bridge or affected building level in that hex"

Note the use of "hex" and not "Location"

A perfect example of connecting the explosives to the pillars under the bridge and not to the surface.

Nice when reality fits the rules.:smoke:
