Thought I'd start a thread to keep straight the many historical scenarios and campaigns in various stages of development that have been or are planned to be submitted to MMP. Although content is incomplete, basing all information on factual statements from responsible parties, not rumors, and avoiding any statements on publication dates. This is not a request to MMP to provide updates, but to the extent they do will be most grateful for them. Also appreciate any and all additions/amendments to this list from those in a position to know.

Peleliu and Hürtgen Forest are apparently in design, but unsure of intent/interest around MMP submission.
Pretty sure the last two - Peleliu and Hurtgen are BFP projects.

I can say without a doubt that the Dinant map is decidedly not in crayon.:devious: Dan had turned the artwork over at an early stage to Nadir El-Farra., to avoid the crayola look. Nadir did a splendid job on the maps. To the point that a hotel keeper in Dinant remarked upon seeing the map, that is it accurate enough to drive around the town to this day using it. It really is a beauty. Nice job Nadir. The team consists of Dan,Nadir and myself with contributions from a host of others in the way of playtesting, proofing, etc..

Second that! Geez, Kwan, no idea you'd compiled such a catalog. What do you know about Narvik?
Narvik 1940
1 mid sized Cg map
several stand alone scenarios 2 Cgs , one small and one larger. will have night dates.
Lead Designer is MIA at this time. Minor support team was conducting research and map edits when this occurred. Project is currently in limbo with a partial map and partial rules set, but not abandoned by the support team.
In design stage at time of being shelved for other projects and loss of team lead.
No plans ever generated for submission.
HSASL design.

Hope that fills in the gaps - as much as I am at liberty to say on it.

Thanks, Jack--useful list. I didn't know there were so many out there!
Jackson worked diligently and carefully on his list. It is one of the major items I have seen him create, and I will attest that although he is quite the busy fellow recently, this just the tip of what the man is capable of molding and creating for the hobby, "we ain't seen nothin' yet!!" ( ;))

Thanks, Jon. Safe to say it's not in the pipeline?

Red Oktober was submitted to MMP this year for publication. So I would hazard a guess that it will be the next product out the gate perhaps next year.

From the recent (Feb 13th, 2016) Winter 2016 Update email from MMP:

We expect to receive the final submission for the RED OCTOBER Historical ASL module in the next month...

Several other HASLs are moving along nicely as well:
Dan Dolan's HASL for DINANT (Germans vs French, May 1940);
SLAUGHTER AT PONYRI (Germans vs Russian, July 1943), which, based on some new information, now has an updated (and enlarged) map (and Pete Shelling is hard at work updating his scenario designs to fit it);
and FLAMES IN HATTEN (American vs German, January 1945), designed by Andy Rogers, is in playtesting at MMP.

Aw geez .. that's too much credit sir. THANKYOU.

This is really to stop me from spending my money on too much stupid sh-t knowing that the real good stuff is coming!

So, based on other source information I've compiled over the years, here are some updates to the OP:

Also appreciate any and all additions/amendments to this list from those in a position to know.

Hatten
  • U.S. 14th Armored vs German Panzer-Division 21 and Panzer-Grenadier Division 25 in Alsace during Operation NORDWIND, January '45 (single map, 3-date and 5-date Campaign Games (with no Night dates) and several stand-alone scenarios)
  • [•Designer/Honcho] -> Andy Rogers
  • MMP Playtest
  • Mini-CG insert in Special Ops
Red October
  • Stalingrad factory adjacent to Red Barricades
  • (CG map connects to RB)
  • Charlie Kibler + Gary Fortenberry
  • [MMP Playtest]
  • HASL module
Manila -> aka "With Fire & Sword"
  • -> '45 Japanese stand in city against US/Filipino effort to liberate
  • (large CG map with scaled-down buildings)
  • Brian Blad & David ____ (aka ASL Sarge) -> David Roth
  • MMP Playtest
  • HASL module
  • this from somewhere: UPDATE 3/7/15: 6 mapsheets each ~ 38" x 24", laid out 3 maps by 2 maps so 76" wide by 72" tall, most scens use 1 mapsheet, 5CGs (1 uses 2maps, 3 use 4maps, 1 uses all 6maps), likely another 2 years, but been in playtest for 16yrs. {Plus this comment, but undated} -> both late-war Manila and early-war Historical Study
Rotterdam
  • German investment of the city in May '40.
  • (detailed CG map of city center, more Dutch infantry and vehicles, gunboats and seaplanes)
  • David Meyler
  • [unknown]
  • [mini-HASL slated for a Journal]
Ponyri -> Slaughter at Ponyri
  • Action on the north flank of the Kursk salient, July '43.
  • (CG map)
  • [•Designer/Honcho] -> Pete Shelling
  • [MMP Playtest]
  • [•HASL module]
  • this from somewhere: Ponyri is more than well along. Pete Shelling and Chas Smith have put together scenarios (9 from Pete, 2 from Chas) - so that ought to catch everyone's attention. I am finishing the game rules and fine-tuning the CG at this point with our SoCal PT group - all veteren players (3rd PT in progress currently). It will be ready for submission by early 2017. Relative to other HASL submittals, this one is very well developed. There is a wide and interesting mix of scenarios utilizing all of the very large board (40x56) - the battle was very much ebb & flow with both sides constantly reinforcing the battle with new troops and combined arms (it was the very schwerepunkt of the German advance in the north - a primary focal point of the Russians resistance). The CG involves the use of many different kinds of every unit type (armor, infantry, artillery, air) in a constant combined arms fight over highly variable terrain. More counters will be required (meat & potatoes counters - T34s, MkIVs, etc.). The CG is truly not lightweight ASL - it's arguably the most intense HASL so far and taxes the most experience players in ways not seen before (ie. keeping a combined arms attack or defense coordinated). To give you a flavor: the Germans enter the board with approximately 30 AFVs, 3 infantry companies, air support, 2 artillery mods and must cross a 40 wide by 25 hexes deep area sewn with mines, trenches, wire, dug-in T-34s, pillboxes and various other assorted Russian tricks just to get into the beat up town of Ponyri. Then they have to take the town and RR yards, then control the end of the map. The CG is designed to give maximum flexibility in OB and play, and will provide each side with more options in terms of surprise armor/infantry reinforcements, attack and defense options. Nothing predictable or plodding here - very dynamic play.
[/LIST]

Thanks for the above. Have again updated the OP, and if some of the "from somewhere" attributions can grow a more definite provenance I will gladly add them, as well.

The BFP efforts have been confirmed and those titles deleted.
