Off-map units: Placing of, Setup

Gentlemen:

Could someone outline the procedure for correctly setting up off-map units so that they enter at a specific turn and map location? I've logged a bit of time trying to figure this out by trial and error, but am frustrated and mystified by the lack of documentation.

My apologies on the slow reply.

Assuming you are using version 2.7:

Select the unit

Select the "place offmap" button

Use the arrows on the popup box to select the turn on which the unit should arrive

Right-click on the map at the location where the unit should arrive



Note that, IMO, this feature contains some creepy-crawlies* (see below). If you are running a networked game, I would use the Host's magic-move feature to bring the unit into play instead.

* In some cases, we've seen something go very odd with the reinforcement feature, resulting in units being in combat in the NW (upper left) corner of the map, resulting in a game crash. We've also seen some crashes that we haven't been able to pin down very precisely other than "if we stop having the unit placed off map the crash stops happening".
