Hi All,

Is there anything preventing OBA activity (SR's, FFE's) at night before the first starshell is put down?

I've looked and the rules don't seem to prevent it. It seems very wrong that you can start setting up SR's (or even call in FFE's) before you've seen an enemy unit.

No, there is nothing against it.

It just seemed odd to me (but we played it that way anyways).

Yes you are limited to NVR, but it can still allow the defender to line up SR's on likely attack routes before anything happens. They can even drop an FFE on ?'s hiding behind a treeline or whatever if they don't get stuffed on the extra chit draw.

Seems weird they would be doing this before they've seen any enemy units. Why can they be suspicious enough to start calling for artillery at noises out in the jungle, but not suspcious enough yet to fire a starshell (which would seem like a primary reaction)?
