Not yet. (...nyet ). Been playing basic SL solo since I discovered it in closet. COI adds sufficient complexity I decided to skip straight to ASL. Psyched to discover site! What ASL products do I need to get started?
Good luck!

Okay then. You've come to the right place. Keep in mind, however, that to "skip straight to ASL" you will need to at least purchase the Beyond Valor Core Module ($132), plus the ASL Rule Book ($96 and currently out of stock). Assuming you can't find those two items used for cheaper. OR you can find someone who has already invested in the game system to show you the ropes. OR... you could dip your toe in the water with Starter Kit #1 ($28) and a very manageable 12-page rulebook which will introduce you to the infantry and support weapon essentials of ASL to see if investing into the big game is what you really want.

Whatever you decide, welcome to the club!

(Just because you are paranoid does not mean someone is not out to get you)
There is an ASL tournament at St Louis in July, think about it. I commend you for going straight to ASL, seeing how you are a SL vet the transition becomes kinda intuitive with the whole +1/-1, ROF kinda thing going on. You don’t need training wheels to play some infantry only ASL until you’re ready for more crazy stuff.
Don't listen to those whom would temp you with ‘SK this’ or ‘SK that’. You’re on the right path. See ya in St Louis.

I agree with Bob. If you've played SL just go for it. Buy a used copy of the rules, Beyond Valor or whatever and go for it, Just play, have fun, and kick Bob's butt in St, Louis!

Thanks! St. Louis here I come (after sufficient prep fire of course). Not only did you rally me - I damned near went berserk! I already ordered the basic ASLSK. Thanks again. See you in St. Louis!

You down load it from the internet. I recommend that you do so. It gives access to the world of ASL with international opportunities for opponents. And Solo play.

Where should I go to get started on VASL?
Looky here:

In this forum there are threads explaining some basics.

VASL ist superb for playing the game with people around the world.

If you do not want to buy a (used) copy of the big rules binder and don't mind an electronic version - that's available and better searchable than the classic rules binder. Then there is also the "pocket rulebook". Smaller and more handy, but if you have weak eyesight, then the fonts might be too small for you.

Please note that you can get the electronic rulebook instead. Look here:
