Kind of sad seeing one of Fish's old threads but nice to know although he's left us he is still contributing to the game.

I don't think Don wrote the original SL rulebook.

The designer's interviews in contemporary wargame magazines make it clear it was a collaboration between him and Hill. As jbullough notes, Hill had a conversational style that clashed with Greenwood's legalese approach. Some good interviews in MOVES, and F&M at the time of release that discuss their collaboration in a bit of detail.
