How about you upload whatever file(s) is necessary for the rest of the VASL community to use.?

Just asking for a friend.
If you can obtain permission from MMP for the images to be shared, I would be happy to post them.

Hi all,

Any word on why my and others' VASL-Templates.org snippet images are no longer rendering in VASL? The only change I've made was to change the VASL background color to an off-white; I've since reverted back with no luck. Even reinstalling and reverting back to earlier versions and combinations of VASSAL and VASL have not corrected the problem. Even the images on my opponent's VASAL screen are lost. Now using VASL 6.6.6B5, VASSAL 3.6.14, and VASAL-Templates V1.10.

Here's an example of what we now see on VASL.

VASL-Templates.org always worked well for me. Now? Nope. Ideas? Thanks and cheers.

There is no template in the program. I don't know what version you used but I checked.

I am currently having the same issue. The images were present last week and now they are not. I have not changed anything...thoughts? TIA

Hi Oberst,

I edited my comment to help make sure one understands I'm referring to importing snippets from VASL-Templates.org into VASL.

Cheers,

Oh, oh! I think I solved it. See the following setting in your copy of VASL-Templates.org

25029

Set your to the setting as shown by the arrow. (Yes, I humbly recognize this is different from what Neal's YouTube video recommends; see the ten-minute mark.) Unfortunately, I had to reload all my snippets, but better than nothing. I don't know how the settings changed. I'll go back and revert my date format to DD/MM/YYYY. Progress.

Cheers,

The French mortars are all showing the British coloured version in the dropdown. I'm assuming this is something that can be fixed by editing the ordnance french.json file but I'm not sure what. Is it the GPID in json? And if so where would I find the correct image files?

A number of the vast-templates snippets are no longer rendering correctly with VASSAL 3.7.1. This is using VASL 6.6.6 and the latest 6.6.7-beta7.mod. Here is a small screen shot excerpt showing the issue with the OB snippets. The boxes are cut off and the nationality icons are not showing. The combatants box doesn't render at all. Is this software currently abandoned ware? Are there any kind individuals still overseeing its viability? Have loved it, I'm hoping it still has a future. 27056

VASL is not supposed to be used with VASSAL 3.7.1 yet. Downgrade to a previous version and everything should work fine.

Support is normally done at code.pacman-ghost.com, but since the hosting company has completely and utterly screwed the pooch, I'll answer this here.

It looks like VASSAL 3.7.0+ no longer renders HTML correctly if there is an <img> tag. That's why some of the labels (e.g. scenario name/location/date) are correct, but if there's an image in there anywhere, the whole thing gets completely mangled.

There is no work-around, you'll have to rollback to 3.6.14.

The new VASL version 6.6.7 to be released soon in November is supposed to be used with VASSAL v3.7.x, though.

So therefore, I reckon, that @Pacman Ghost will likely attempt to address this issue in an adapted version of his tool.

For anyone to look into that, we'd need a proper bug report. How do we reproduce the problem?

If you're going to use 3.6, please use 3.6.19, the final 3.6 release. It has three months of additional bug fixes over 3.6.14.

I'll open a ticket when I get some time.

How do you know the problem doesn't exist in 3.6.15? Only certain combinations of VASSAL + VASL are supported by vasl-templates. Other combinations might work, but they might not.

So, I am going to release vasl667 built with vassal3.7.0 (at least) because we need to fix the Mark Moved bug and that requires 3.7.0 or more.

I had planned to release it in early November. I can delay that somewhat if you need time to find out what is going on here. I would prefer not to release a version that will disrupt vasl-templates.

@uckelman @Pacman Ghost let me know what you think.

The longer VASL 6.6.7 is delayed, the more reports we get about bugs already fixed. I would have liked to have seen 6.6.7 released months ago, and more frequent, smaller releases generally.

I see the bug report---thanks---but it doesn't contain instructions for how to reproduce the problem.
