Hey everyone
I recently moved to Grand Rapids, Michigan. While I thought I was at risk of losing opponents, I have been pleasantly surprised that ASL is very strong here with lots of experienced players/gentlemen.
I rate myself an 8-0 player. I also happen to play the StarFleet Battles stuff, especially the new Fed Commander series.
Drop me a line if you are in the area.

G'day all ...

Am in Singapore and managed to get convinced by a pal to give ASl a try ... sez he's played before and will guide/teach me he says ... sez he's not that good he says :lier:

Anyhow, since he's never owned ASL, we'll have to buy it ... any advice on where to get them from will be appreciated. Especially if it involves Sydney, Australia since I've got friends passing there.

Cheers all

Hello folks...

Say what you will of the ASLSK boxes, they are working when it comes to bringing in new players to the game. I just recently "discovered" ASL from a friend of mine who's a long-time player. After borrowing his SK1, then buying my own SK2 I ended up scoring a deal for the full game. I just picked up the ASLRB, BV, Yanks, Paratrooper, SK1, and both DASL boxes second-hand. I'm in Plano, TX and am lucky to have a good friend who's big into ASL to act as both teacher as well as opponent!

Take care!

/Paul

Welcome, Paul.

Sounds as if you'll HAVE to use Planos for your counter storage!

Paul,

There are many folks here in Texas that play ASL. If you go here:

http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/central-texas-asl/

and join this Yahoo Group, you will be directed to ALL the players in Texas and the surrounding territories.

Also,

There is a ASL Tournament in February that you can visit as well

Read here:

or the one in June here:

More on this tournament here:

I live in Killeen.

Im also a SK player and I just discovered the forums. I'd really like to get into the full game, but lack of time, money and opponents (other than VASLones) is slowing it down. So thats it. Hello everyone :)

Doing well, I was wondering where the ASLML went but it seems to be here in a modified format.

I got my ASL batteries recharged at Winter Offensive and got motivated to find some ASL type discussion and it led me here.

I picked up the East Front AP and Turning the Tide so I got some catching up to do.

I simply CANNOT WAIT to see the interaction between our new member and some of the more prominant denizens of the Forums.....:bite:
Oh, he DOES have a personal history, doesn't he?
I seem to have seen his pseudo somewhere...
Well, Jazz, I am glad to see that you are looking forward to practicing some active moderating in the days to come.

Whatever would give you that impression?

Mr. Phlegm is more than capable of taking care of himself....and speaking his mind.

Bloody hell, return of The Phlegm! Good to have you back, it must be because of the stray random thought I had a week ago when I came across the crayon-tastic Ruweisat Ridge in a box and wondered where you were.....

Where to hang out

This forum seems a bit more like the ch site than the old ASLML. Is ther a topic for general conversation or is it a fly by the seat of your pants kinda thing.

I'll try to be good Jazz. I don't want to be moderated. It sounds painful.

Good to see Ruweisat Ridge is still floating around. I'm getting the itch to do some ASL design again. It seems like the PTO is kinda getting forgotten. Might have to crank out a quickie to get back into things. Is there a topic here to post new desings or do you start a new one?

Come join the Monkeys With Typewriters II scenario design contest in the main forum (the thread is stickied). All the designers have the same source material and crank out a scenario which is anonymized and then judged by the pre-eminent judging panel. We published 12 free scenarios for the masses last year with some pretty well known designers joining in. Come join in. Or join the judges :)
