looking for an opponent will to play a first time VASL player.
I'm an experienced player, but have never used VASL before. I have mucked my way around and think I can handle it though.

So step up and lets play some ASL.

Get on VASL and hit the "!" button. Put SK or newbie as part of your identity. There are many players that would pick up a game on the spot. The SK games are quick by ASL standards and can be played in two sittings working through the rules, one sitting easily if both players are conversant.
This goes double for experienced gamers learning VASL. In this year, I have played about 15 different players live on VASL; most of the games played to completion! VASL is a great place to pick up games just by hanging out.

In many ways, VASL is "easier" to play than live. Searching for counters is easier. You don't have to pick each Prep Fire counter off in big scenarios, just remove all of them with two clicks, for example. Get on line and play, watch, or just chat.
