And I thought - looking at the picture - that you would bring a bottle of fine single malt...

That would have given you even more style points, I suppose. ;)

Oh, don't worry, I'll bring one of those as well.

The whiskey table at Heroes. Tony always brings the best one!
A fine Glenmorangie, the Hearach (first one from the Harris distillery) the Glasgow 1770 quite smokey but very pleasant, Mossburn finished in Calvados casks.
Not shown here are a Talisker and Ben Bracken that arrived later on.

Is there a "minimum buy-in"? Might be worth a trip to Heroes just to get a tasting.
Heroes and Bounding Fire are in the same Hotel in Blackpool. One is in the spring, one is in late fall/early winter. Both attract the same crowd and both are well worth the time. If forced to choose one, I would take Bounding Fire over Heroes but that's almost as hard as choosing between your children. The whisky is good (and I don't even really drink it), the venue is great, the food is very good, and the people are top notch (for ASL'ers). I rate it right up there with best. JMO, YMMV. -- jim
